1. Can I register for IT TEL Broadband® service?

IT TEL Communications has already introduced the service to limited geographic areas and will continue to add new areas. If you have received a marketing communication through the mail from us, IT TEL Broadband service is available in your neighborhood.



2. How does the IT TEL Broadband service work?

IT TEL Broadband service is delivered through a technology known as Broadband over Power Lines, or BPL. We install special equipment on the power lines near your home to make this service available. Once you have signed up for the service, we will send you a special power line modem. Connect the modem to your computer using a standard Ethernet cable we provide, and plug the modem into virtually any electrical outlet for access to the high-speed Internet connection.



3. Do I have to change any of the wiring in my home?

No. IT TEL Broadband service works with existing home wiring, from virtually any outlet.



4. Will the IT TEL Broadband service have any adverse impact on how my electric service works?

No, it does not adversely affect the flow of electricity in any way.



5. Will there be any impact on my utility bill?

No. IT TEL Broadband service does not increase the energy consumption in your home (other than the use of your power line modem and computer).



6. What happens if there is a power outage?

If there is a power outage, the modem and IT TEL Broadband service will work once your power is restored.



7. Will my computer work with the IT-TEL Broadband service?

IT-TEL Internet Service works on Windows and Macintosh systems. Please check the minimal requirements for our service. For further access you will need an Ethernet port.



8. What do I do if my computer does not have an Ethernet port?

You have several options. You can purchase a Network Interface Card (NIC) at any computer supply store. This will require a physical installation of the card into your computer. Or you can purchase a USB-Ethernet adaptor which converts a USB port on your computer into an Ethernet port. We have USB-Ethernet adaptors in stock for purchase and delivery with your modem.



9. Can I use a router with my service?

Yes. Just connect your power line modem to the WAN/Internet port of your router.



10. How to turn on the PLC?

There isn't an On/Off button on the PLC. It turns on by putting it in the electrical socket in the wall. A light on the rear side will turn on, which shows that the device is in current.



11. What can I do if the PLC is slow or doesn't connect to the internet?

Please assure that the PLC is set directly to a electrical socket without any broken wire or addon. If you still have problems, remove the PLC from the socket, wait 1 minute and insert it again. If the problem persists then please call our customer support.



12. What do I need to do if I’m moving?

Please contact customer support to inform us of your move. We will be able to inform you whether IT TEL Broadband service is available in your new neighborhood.

14. Can I purchase additional equipment or features for my service?

Yes, IT-TEL Broadband customers can purchase additional equipment.



15. Does IT-TEL offer a secure internet service?

Yes, IT-TEL has taken all the precautions and legal steps to offer secure browsing to its clients. With a big range of protections against viruses, spywares and firewall, all to assure perfect security for your computer.



16. Does IT TEL Communications offer wireless Internet access?

Yes. A wireless power line modem can be purchased to provide IT TEL Broadband customers with wireless Internet access.
